Default Remote key not responding, but I can still use keyless start 02 model

Hi guys,

I tried to search the issue I currently have with no luck.

Everything else works but I can't unlock/lock the car with the remote key. I tried to use the key blade and it only worked on the trunk thus I had to call roadside assitance to gain access.
I left my car in the garage with door unlocked worried I won't be able to get in the car.

I can start the car without the key in the ignition and everything else works as it should.
I can lock/unlock inside the car so I wasn't sure if this is the infamous door lock actutor issue. soft close is working just fine, only thing I could think of was I changed the 12v battery last week. I've changed the remote key batteries and it didn't make any difference.

Any thoughts/inputs would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

the LS430 has a complex system of oscillators that pickup the key's signal. Also if the key's battery is weak, the signal wont be properly picked up. Start with the simplest things first.

Use a brand name battery for fob. I have seen where an off brand will measure 3v and not work well as internal resistance plays a part in the operation. Do you have 2 fobs and both don't work? How are you able to start the car without the key in the ignition? If you can there must be an aftermarket remote start which can be programed to use fob keys and some pairing was lost when changed 12v battery.

Thanks for the reply. I finally got the time to check the system via techstream. No codes found and I erased and re registered the keys I have still no luck. It's just smart entry/wireless lock/unlock function are not working properly. Oh yes, I can't lock the car with the physical blade key either. I ran active tests to check if there's any issue but everything ticks the box.

One thing I could confirm was the keys I have are master keys.
