I bought my brother's 2003 LS430 a few years ago. He is obsessive about maintenance, so even though it just ticked through 200,000 miles, it has done well.

I have a question about the gas cap. The first few years it was fine, but a few months ago I could not get it off to put gas in the car. I wound up driving to the mechanics and one of the struggled with it and finally got it off. Ever since then I have closed the cap but not as far as hearing clicks because then it takes more strength than I have to then get the cap off. (The guys at the mechanics can do it but not me.)

So awhile ago the VSC check came on and it turns out because of the gas cap being "loose." It is not actually loose, just not tightened to Godzilla-level tightening.

Is there a solution to this?

Make sure to purchase a new OEM gas cap and thoroughly clean the gas cap housing area before installation. I recommend you buy all of your parts on Genuine OEM Lexus Parts and Accessories Online - Lexus Parts Now or some Lexus dealerships on eBay!
