At first I tried using the orange/red toyota FIPG according to the manual and it leaked pretty bad.
I did some research on here and it turns out people had good luck with using the Fel-Pro gasket which is what worked for me. The key is to flatten the area around the bolt holes as much as possible with a hammer before reinstalling. If your pan has been dropped it was most likely torqued past the factory specs along with being pulled on to remove it which both warp the pans edges. 6-7 ft-lbs(70-90 inch-lbs) is the highest you can go with the bolts which will require a proper torque wrench.

If I happened to step on the gas too much & since the torque converter was slipping, I could hear the engine rev'ed up then the car lurched & trembled a bit. Once it's in gears & rolling, it's drivable. I initially drained & filled the tranny with fresh Toyota Transmission Fluid Type T-IV, it helped for a little while, however the condition got worst to a point it became annoying & also a safety issue so I went with a completed tranny overhauled & I'm glad that I did.
hey a little late but I’m having those same issues sometimes it drives fine but 6/10 it revs and finds the gears and I bought my car with 226k miles and did all the service with the right Toyota trans fluid. With that being said I drive the car a bit hard then it started having that problem if I’m driving normally it won’t slip but it will rev too 1400-2k rpms at a red light it drives fine when I do floor it will shift good but sometimes you can tell it’s not pushing the power down correctly so I’m gonna risk it and get a low mileage used one!
