Default Dashboard Help - End Panel/Pad

I need some help with my '98 LS.

I need to remove the No. 1 Safety Pad and I need to get to the two fasteners under the End Panel/Pad. How do you remove this bugger? I have the Finish Plate off but I don't want to start yanking on it. I suspect there's a few clips of some sort there. Thank you very much for the help.

Disregard. I figured it out. There's three clips holding it to the dash frame; two at the top, one at the bottom. Unclip the bottom one and the top clips will follow.

Now, how much disassembly is required in order to get the HVAC duct that runs across under the steering column out?

Back to the End Panel/pad. The pad is stating to delaminate from the substrate. Recommend an adhesive? I'm thinking Gorilla Glue because the pad is pretty stiff and will naturally want to pull away.

I had the same exact problem years ago when I was servicing my cluster. The vinyl and resin part came right off of the plastic backing plate

I don't remember entirely, but I am pretty sure I used gorilla glue because I had just bought it to fix my tachometer needle. I can see the bottle next to the trim in one of my photos, too (below).

Just make sure to hold the resin and vinyl trim onto the plastic backing plate with a few small plastic clamps! Also check that they aren't creasing your vinyl. Putting a towel in between the clamp and the vinyl should help to prevent that

It has been very secure and has not fallen off in the past 4.5 years. Even when parked in very hot and cold temperatures!

Thanks, CELCI0R for the post. That's how I envisioned the fix. It's a good thing the pad itself doesn't deteriorate before the bond.
