Drove my wife's 30th anniversary present home from the dealer yesterday: 2004 Modern Luxury (Black Onyx / Cashmere), with Smart Access and Preferred Accessory Package.

It was well-deserved, having put up with me for that long!

My certified "98 LS 400 was about to come off warranty and needed the 90.000 maintenance. Was very happy with it but decided time to update. Planned on certified LS430 but they now sell for $10,000 more than 3 year old certified LS400's did. Decided to go to '04 LS430 Mica with Modern Luxury, Smart Key and Euro Tuned Suspension option as this is 2 generations from '98 LS400. 6 speed auto, bluetooth, and new NAV significant improvements. 4% lease rate from Lexus also helped.

You'll love this vehicle and since you are already used to driving an older Lexus, you can buy it at the end of the lease and effectively keep the same car for 6-7 years instead of buying a "new used" car every 3-4 years. In the end, the cost is not much more and you have new from the beginning. Not that buying a (non-abused) LS is very risky.

You will LOVE your '04. Love it.

I just purchased yesterday a 2000 LS 400 (49.5k miles). Traded in my 96 Deville Concours with 140K miles. I plan on getting more miles with the Lexus. My brother purchased a 02 430 about 3 months ago and after I took a 100 mile trip with him with me driving, I started to figure on how to buy a Lexus for myself.

The cad was starting to nickle and dime me soooooooo, now I have jumped and hopefully the experience will be positive. My question is how many of you use your cars for business? I will travel about 25-30k per year.

Thanks, this forum/site is fantastic

pks

I take it that you have had good results with the car(s). Any major repairs? Any helpful observations, which I should be aware?

Thanks

You know I can't say that I've had any issues none, yet, now I've done some things that may have caused little problems that I had to get repaired. One time I locked my keys and purse (cell phone) in the car it was dark, yes and on a dark road no call box in sight, it was a perfect scary movie scene, in my mind anyway. I could hear that music and everything CUH CUH CUH....SH SH SH so I kinda freaked out saw a nice size rock and yes I did it, and without any hesitation too, I busted the back passanger window of the LS. I was not about walk, nor ask a stanger for a ride, I watch too many movies for that. Hey it was surely worth it believe me, and if I was ever in that situation again (heaven forbid) I'd do the same thing.
Heyyyy a perfect opportunity to use some smilies . Ok when I realized I locked myself out I was like then I was but then I started thinking the worst then I became while at the same time then something came over me and I felt and thats when I picked up the rock and said trick it I'll fix it latter. Sometimes you gatta do what you gotta do.

Oh oh oh the reason I pulled over was because I had a buch of junk in the back seat and was moving some of it to the trunk. Of course this was right before I got the LX.
