When servicing your steering rack, inspect four bolts with captive split-ock wave-washers which affix two brackets onto the front subframe which clamps onto steering rack tube rubber grommets.

After 23 years, these split wave lockwashers on 1999 LS400 have lost tension and flattened, so am replacing bolts as part of my steering damper installation project.


Four Steering Rack Bracket Bolts part number 90119-12173.


Split in split wave spring lockwasher (closest to underside of bolt head) has lost tension, so no longer raised...and lost it's "bite".
