free hp - honeycomb removal

i took the gold grate or whatever it is off but there is still the honeycomb on so remove that as well.

its safe to do right?

Lvangundy 10-02-03 07:54 AM

Uh, no.

It serves a purpose. The MAF type is a karmann vortex. The honey comb is an air-flow straightener.

Taking this out can cause the MAF to compute bad readings and possibly a check engine light as if you unplugged the MAF completely.

Can I ask you why tell people to do something, then ask if it's safe or not?

i didnt know

sorry

i thought it added power
i know that the first gold grate thing had no purpose

The gold plating smoothens the air, if you take it out your will stall out at stop lights.

sooths the air?
ru serious? i thought that was just more b/s to let less air into the engine?
