Default Windshield/Cowl Corner Pieces?

Earlier this year, when I got my original (pour one out) Toyota/Lexus windshield replaced, the installing technician noted I was missing some of the small foam or plastic pieces that surround the bottom corners of the windshield near the plastic cowl. I've searched high and low for photos of an LS400 with the correct pieces, and I've scoured the part diagrams trying to find the numbers and hopefully get an idea of what I'm missing, but so far I haven't come up with much.

Can anyone share some photos of what my car seems to be missing? It's been in my family since new, but somewhere along the way, the bits I'm referring to seem to have disappeared.

My car (pardon the fifth, it rained yesterday):

What I believe is the applicable part diagram:

The only image I've found which potentially shows the pieces:

I know exactly which the insulators you are referring to. I've gotten them for another 1st gen LS in the past. They are really good at preventing debris from falling into the fender and getting stuck at the bottom.

Usually, these go missing when the fenders are removed for bodywork. They either fall out, are forgotten, or in some cases I've seen them get left under the cowl or inside the fender after reinstallation!

The last photo you have is of a 1st gen LS (1990-1994), and you can see both insulators here. One goes in the top of the fender at the edge, and another below to close out the opening where the hood hinge sits.

I am both impressed and surprised that your windshield installer noticed they were missing! He's probably had to remove them in the past to get the windshield out.

Your car is a 1999, so I have attached a parts diagram for the 1998-2000 LS - you can see the two insulators, labeled 53869A, 53868C and 53866, 53867. Unfortunately, some are no longer produced, and you will have to source them from a junked car.

There are 2 additional insulators you can check for, 53827B, 53828B, which are visible in the fender when you open up your door. These almost always go missing on cars after body work.

Thank you very much for the detailed response. Those are the exact pieces I'm looking for. I knew I was getting close when I was searching the part diagrams and came across the NLA stuff, assuming something small and peripheral like this wasn't being made anymore. I also appreciate the tip regarding the two additional fender insulators. Unfortunately, after taking a brief look, I wasn't able to verify if my car still has them or not. Do you have any photos of them? It helps to get a clearer idea of what I'm actually looking for when I peek into the fender with the door open.

So, just to set the record straight for anyone else, the actual part numbers of what's missing on my 1999 LS400 are as follows:
  • Fender Insulator/Seal to Cowl (Left, Front) — 53867-50020
  • Fender Insulator/Seal to Cowl (Left, Front) — 53869-50020 (NLA)
  • Fender Insulator/Seal to Cowl (Right, Front) — 53866-50020
  • Fender Insulator/Seal to Cowl (Right, Front) — 53868-50020

And the other commonly missing parts:
  • Fender Side Panel Protector (Right, Front) — 53827-50020 (NLA)
  • Fender Side Panel Protector (Left, Front) — 53828-50020 (NLA)

Thanks again for the help. I'm going to order the parts which remain available from my preferred dealer, and see about sourcing the others used.

I don't have any specific photos that I can take myself, but I put photos below from BringaTrailer.

From working on first gens, the cowl insulators at the top of the fender are the easiest to install without removing the fenders. For you, these would be:
Fender Insulator/Seal to Cowl (Left, Front) — 53869-50020 (NLA)
Fender Insulator/Seal to Cowl (Right, Front) — 53868-50020

The other 4 require removing the fender to install. I would not necessarily recommend this, as it may be too intensive.. To do it right, you would need to remove the lights, loosen/remove the bumper, loosen/remove the rocker covers, then remove/loosen the fenders. This can take several hours if done with care.
Fender Side Panel Protector (Right, Front) — 53827-50020 (NLA) <-- needs to be inserted between the fender and frame, inside the door jamb
Fender Side Panel Protector (Left, Front) — 53828-50020 (NLA) <-- needs to be inserted between the fender and frame, inside the door jamb
Fender Insulator/Seal to Cowl (Left, Front) — 53867-50020 <-- needs to be inserted under the fender, next to the hood hinge
Fender Insulator/Seal to Cowl (Right, Front) — 53866-50020 <-- needs to be inserted under the fender, next to the hood hinge

From the photos in your original post, your car already appears to have 53867-50020 and 53866-50020 for the fender insulators at the top.

If you can take a closeup photo of this area between your door and fender, that would help to determine if you have the two side panel protectors. You will need the door open, and preferably have flash on, so you can see if the insulator is present:

If you look carefully, you can see the protector here:

Thanks again. You're right, my car has 53867-50020 and 53866-50020 present. I see it's only the top ones (53869-50020 and 53868-50020) that I'm missing, and I've got the one that's still available on order. I'll keep an eye out for the other missing one. Once the other shows up, I'll actually know what I'm looking for.

Regarding the inner fender protectors, I'm still not exactly sure what I'm looking for, but I did take a few photos of my car:

Thanks for the photos. Many other Toyotas from the late 90s onward had these Styrofoam insulators between the fender and the body in the door jamb that filled the gap. It's very hard for me to show without one of those cars

EDIT: I can see the insulators in your photos. They are these long black foam pieces between the fender and body in the door jamb. You have them

Attached is an image from your left fender, highlighting what I believe to be the foam insulator on the left side.

Looking at the fasteners, the fenders on your car appear to have not been touched, so the cowl insulators were probably removed in the past for various reasons... Maybe a mistake during cowl removal, or previous windshield replacement... It could really be anything.
