AC recirculation button always resets

My issue wasn't when you're running the system, not entirely anyway. Mine is that it'll be cool and dry out so I turn on the passive pass through w/o any blower or AC. Then turn off the car when I get whereever. Then starting the car again, it's back on recirculate so no air is coming through the vents.
