LS400 Questions (GD Opener and Warranty)
Just this week, my wife, Anna, and I became Lexus owners for the first time - and we are quite excited! We purchased a 2000, Platinum LS400.
Question 1: It came with only a owner's manual supplement and we want to find out how to program our garage door signal into one of the buttons near the sunroof. Is there any Lexus site w/ an online owners manual? Or can anyone easily explain how to program it?
Question 2: The car is at 48,000 miles - 2,000 short of the 50k warranty. If we want to buy an extended warranty, should be buy one from a Lexus dealer or are the after-market warranties a better deal? I'd love to hear from someone whose has tried and been satisfied with either...
I know these are very-much Lexus-newbie questions, but we want to get off to a great start!

1. You should be able to get a new set of manuals free of charge by calling Lexus customer service. I don't have the number handy but I think you may be able to find it on the Lexus site.
2. It may be too late to purchase an extended warranty from Lexus. I am not sure but I think there is a time limit of 3 years to purchase the warranty so 3rd party may be your only choice.

For instructions programming the Homelink garage door opener, check out: http://www.homelink.com Programming remotes for older openers is a snap, programming newer rolling-code remotes takes a little patience. It helps if the your garage remote that you're using to train the Homelink has fairly fresh batteries.
