Default Right Front Wheel Well

A look at my passenger side front suspension. Anyone have any input on how everything looks? I couldn't find any play in any of the bushing or joint parts but I think they car has been sitting for quite some time longer then I was told. I also cleaned the front wheel inside and out. The interior of my wheel well is caked with dirt. This car was out on the country I think someone did some donuts in a field at some time in the cars history.

I have gotten the smell of tires out of the cabin. Still airing out the country smell from the outside, nearly there.

The squeaky noise from the pulley has changed a bit. I have wondered if something in there just needs some lubrication.

Some surface rust. Anyone have experience painting the calipers?

Dirty

Really Dirty. That lower control arm looks ok?

I should have taken a before picture. You all know what it looked like though.

Looks great! Removing the crud from the inside of rims can take some work. My nephew's truck rims were almost solid black (on the outside) when he quit driving it. Never laid a finger on them the whole time he had it.

The insides of these have not been cleaned ever for sure. I am going to remove and clean the rest soon so I shall take some before pics. A pressure washer would make short work of it I think.

I get into what I am doing and often forget to take before pix. I pressure washer would help, but be careful on the front part and/or tires. I read somewhere that it is not good on tires, that and certain cleaning chemicals.

Default Driver Side Front Suspension

I forgot to take after pics this time. D'oh.

Should I be able to turn the rotor by hand when the parking break is on? I can turn it and when I do it makes noise like it is rubbing. The brakes might need to be taken apart and rebuilt although the car stops fine as far as I can tell.

I used a wire brush to remove that surface rust.

I supposed pressure washing this whole area is out of the question?

I would like to rebuild the stock suspension. Clean everything good an repaint it. Might be more then I am capable of doing.

Angry Rear Rotor Stuck

I can not get my rear rotor to come off. I am pretty sure the parking brake cable is stuck somewhere underneath the car. Anyone have any experience with locating and fiddling with the parking brake cable? When I try to manually move the rotor it moves a little bit back and forth. Its the same with the parking brake "on" or "off". Or am I doing something wrong preventing me from taking the rotor off. In the video I watched of it the rotor came of easily once the screws were removed. Thank you. This is what I watched.

What is this supposed to look like? Something is broker here I think. Is this something to do with the parking break?

my video of my situation right now

Ya need to take the car out of gear. Raise both tires, put in neutral, then turn the rotor. When it does turn and if you can't get the rotor off you will need to back adjust the parking brake. The rubber plug which is at 12 O'clock position now needs to be at 6 the O'clock position. Remove plug and you can get a small screwdriver in there to adjust the adjuster. I don't remember which way it turns to loosen but if it gets tighter when you try it then it's the other way.
Wow that is alot of rust. Looks like mine and mine is literally falling apart. Whatever that broken piece is, it doesn't look like part of the car. It's weird.

Ok, back to that broken piece. Did that car used to have factory air suspension? Now that I watched your video for more then 20 seconds, at 2:15 it looks like that is for the height adjustment for the air suspension computer. I also noticed in your pics of the front end it also has the height leveler. (I can't remember the exact name of the part)

Thank you Mr.Shark for the advice I had no idea about all that. I will use that info for sure the next time I am looking at them. I think the rust situation is a "worse then it looks" situation, I hope so anyways. I think the rust is all from the past year, I hammered those rusty spots and they are still solid but it need to be taken car of or it will fall apart.

I don't think it had air suspension because when I run the VIN it says it is the base model. But did the base model come with a phone in it? This car, I have a suspicion that is was a dealer car for a while. It was not sold new until 2000. Has only been drivin 700km since March 2017 which is why all this rust has shown up I think.

I've been looking around and it turns out what your car has is the "auto leveling headlights and NOT the "Electronic Modulated Suspension", (air shocks) I was thinking. It's almost as expensive though. The piece that's rusty with the ball on the end of it is not the height sensor link; https://www.mylparts.com/oem-parts/l...Y4LWdhcw%3D%3D The piece that looks aluminum I can't find a diagram that shows that. The aluminium piece is the link. Does the drivers side rear also have that piece?

EDIT: Just wanted to clear up MY mistake.
The rusty part is not the height sensor end link as I said before, it is actually part of the height sensor and the aluminum looking broken piece is the end link.
I found that out by another thread that's posted.

I don't have any height adjustment ability. I will take pictures and let you know when I remove that wheel.

No way for you to adjust it. What you have is electronic, it works off a computer. Idk how it works cuz I've only had the 93-94. Just another expensive system from Lexus that was good when it was new. But now 20 yrs later.....you see what it looks like. One sensor cost over $500.

Angry Wheels Up in Neutral

Thanks first of all. So, I tried to do what you said. Car in in Neutral with both rear wheels up. Parking break off. Still cannot remove the rotors. I tried looking behind that plug and I did manage to see a spring but nothing to adjust it.

When the car was running, I put it in N like deanshark told me to. When I did this the car rolled backwards. seemingly unimpeded by the parking breaks. so perhaps the parking break is not stuck, or just not stuck enough to stop the car but she rolled easily. I am sure she did not roll forwards. The driver side rear rotor will rotate backwards with some effort but not at all forwards.

Before

After, not a great job. The backside of my rears were really dirty. I need a pressure washer for a better clean.

Plug is out, could just be rusted stuck on there?

No electronic level, no weird aluminum piece. The little bracket is there though.
