The subwoofer in my 1998 LS400 is basically dead, it only faintly cuts in with volume up high and a bassy song. It is the Nakamichi system, and I believe that makes it a 6 ohm subwoofer, which is not a common spec. I'm wondering what others have used to replace the sub or what route, short of redoing the entire audio system, others took to regain their bass.

 

Did you find a solution to this? I found this thread searching for my Nakamichi subwoofer which is on its way out.
