Unhappy Alternator Pig tail

My alternator clip is no good. Looking to purchase a new clip. Does anyone have a diagram that denotes the colors of the wires for the clip that goes in to the alternator.

Year?

If wires and contacts are intact, do not use a "pigtail".

Simply replace the plastic connector shell and avoid cutting up your wiring harness.

Maintain the same wiring order.

Contact your Toyota or Lexus dealer to order this part...inexpensive.

I agree with Yodaone...he seems to have alot of good advice so stick to replacing that connector.

The wiring diagram is great..but if you misindex the order....then may cause more expensive damage to other electronics.

If contacts still inserted into remnants of old plastic shell to guide you, otherwise seek assistance

Just picked up a new connector. Can some one tell me the wire order based one colors of the wires. My wires came all the way out of the connect and I didn't get a picture of the orientation

If you look inside that new connector, do you see a 1-2-3 cast into the plastic? If yes, those probably correspond to the 1-2-3 shown on the circuit diagram.
E.g., for that 1995 diagram,
1 = Y = yellow
2 = B-R = black with a solid red stripe
3 = W-L = white with a solid blue stripe

And the arrows (>>, like a chevron) in the diagram indicate the actuall connector there. So if instead of 1-2-3 inside the connector you see 6-2-10, you can see what that means as well.

So you need to find a similar diagram for your '97, or you could make some assumptions based on what you've got already.

Fixed it. The diagram you all provided helped! Thanks so much. Now I have to tackle getting the front end fixed. Tie rods, ball joints etc.

Default 1995-2000 ls400 alternator connector housing p.n.

If your alternator wiring and connector contacts are intact, but plastic housing is broken, then all you should require is this housing.
Each time I disconnect something underhood, the wiring harness side connector housing is brittle and breaks no matter how careful. Purchase housing(s) before performing work.

For 97 LS400, my search came up w/ 27060-50190 or 27060-50230 or 27060-0D010. Are they all interchangeable?
