90 LS400 killing batteries left and right help
So I bought a LS400 couple weeks ago it ran fine until one day my brakes were bad so I let it sit a day then it wouldn’t start just a loud click then if I leave it for a while a little fast click coming from the passenger side, so naturally I went to go charge the battery at AutoZone it turned out bad the metal things sticking on the battery looked all scratched up, so the battery turned out bad. I got a new battery and boom 2 days and the same result scratched up metal pieces that stick out the battery, took it to AutoZone and boom it said bad battery. But I got a good 3-5 cranks out of the battery but the car won’t start. Guys I really need help I honestly don’t wanna get rid of the car. Oh the key thing is the positive cable gets hot and sparks please any suggestions or fix you guys have? I did check the fuses inside the hood but not in the car will check those fuses.

Need a picture of what your talking about. You may have a trunk light that won't turn off or a glove box light? Scratch metal pieces not making sense. How do they look when buying the battery? What are you doing to ruin them? Are they arcing? We need lots of information and pictures to help.

Ok so first off, If you are able to, try and find a local interstate battery dealer within your area. Costco carries Interstate batteries for the low and they have like up to 6-year warranties (where I am located anyways). Those AutoZone and Kragen auto parts batteries are complete crap! Those batteries will sit on the shelves for months without being swapped out or exchanged. For all you know there might not even be a problem with your vehicle. Installing a bad battery will yield the same results as the bad battery you had before. If you don't have the means of getting a good battery I think the ls400 also uses the same 24F battery out of any Ford SUV. Also if you can upload a picture of the metal pieces that attach to the metal thingies on the batteries because by the sound of it it sounds like they might be damaged.
