Default Adding audio control to steering wheel?

Hello all, I've sort of new here, been on here doing nothing but reading and searching but this is my first time posting something.

Recently acquired another 99 ls400, but this time around I will be doing some small modification to my daily.

One of the big modification I'll be doing is upgrading my sound system, speakers, sub, double din h/u etc.

One of the things I like about my 00 ls430 is the audio control on steering wheel and was wondering if I could somehow add one to my ls400?

I was doing research to see if I can swap a 430 steering wheel over to a 400 but read that the airbags are different even though the steering wheel is a direct fitment.

So my next option was seeing if I can convert my phone control on the steering wheel (400 comes with a phone) to an audio one? Or perhaps buy another cluster control and flip it to the other side and rewire that somehow to the other side.

I am open to any suggestion and appreciate any info.

Thank you

There are all sorts of wireless steering wheel audio controllers on eBay, Amazon and even at Walmart: https://www.walmart.com/ip/ADD-Steer...sal/198119007?

Thank you for the response. After more research I saw this aftermarket add ons, but was hoping to do something that gives it more of a OEM look.

I'm with Filnguyen. I'd love to stick a wheel with some OEM audio controls and wire them into my H/U when I get to that. Can a steering wheel from newer models be paired up correctly with the older ones?

From what I read when I was doing my search is that a lot of steering will be direct fit, since they all have the same spline. But the airbag will not though. Would like to have a operating airbag with my steering wheel.
