Any pics? Has the car been maintained by Lexus?

Car was serviced by Lexus until I realized that each visit was a witch hunt for activities that benefited a service advisor that was on commission.

Pictures below.

You can go here for lexus history,or share VIN # so we can look.Interior as nice as exterior?Looks clean in pics.In my area thats about a 4000-4500 dollar car.Bargain as you see fit depending on how anxious you are to sell is my opinion.Prices seem to be going up here, maybe just inflation? IDK.

yes..interior and exterior are clean..unfortunately, I am left with a CarMax quote of $1700. I need to move this car. So I may not have much choice.

That quote is ridiculous.Put it up for 4000-4500 or best offer.I paid 2500 for 245,000 miles and not as clean. But had scary awesome maintenance records. And it was cheap in my neighbourhood.

I agree...However, I am not going to let emotions get in the the way..Need to move car ASAP..New one needs garage space.

That thing would be a steal at 3 grand. This isnt your average used car you know, its one of the best cars ever made and is getting quite a following.I'd bet 3500 OBO would have your phone ringing. And sell real fast.Providing it runs as good as it looks.

Well, I agree. I have never sold a car before. The reason I posted was to get some suggestions as how to move forward.

You cant sell it here without being a somewhat more time in member.Get it up on Craigslist and offer up.I personally could wait and would go 4-4500,but if really need gone,do the 3500 OBO,i think you will be surprised at response.Throw in some interior shots, under hood shots too.If I was looking and saw 3500,I'd be calling.Must be lots more like me as Im 'Joe Average Guy'.

Oh,when I bought i didnt even try to bargain,it was a good deal.Didnt have the heart to beat the seller up.Point being, dont offer lower price until a buyer standing there makes a lower offer first.

Good luck and nice to meet you RJRobbin.

That Carmax quote is very low. They buy low so they can make money by selling that also. That's the way it goes, it's just business. I wish I had the money, I'd be on a bus right now out to Ohio. even though I don't like the 99s. Too bad you don't have time. You could put it on Craigslist for $4000 and let someone talk you down to $3500. Around where I am people park cars in supermarket parking lots near the street with for sale signs on it. Something like that alot of people see it driving by. Don't know if that's really legal or not though.

IDK if you are good at haggling prices but a couple scenarios....asking 3500 OBO

Buyer...would you take 2500?
You...How about we meet in the middle,3 grand.
Buyer....OK,or, he says a little high.
You,I want 3,you want 25,how about 2750 and we call it good?
Buyer....OK,or he sticks at 25,your call to take 2500 or not.

Next scenario
Buyer....whats your best price?
You...how about 3250?
Buyer....OK,or says thinking more like 3 grand?
You,SOLD.
Or buyer says 2500 and see negotiation above.

Again, these thoughts based on the 1700 car max offer and you wanting it GONE.IMO you are being robbed at 2500,no way would i go lower, but I dont know your threshold on what you will do to move it fast.

Just some thoughts as a first time seller, hope others jump in with their thoughts.
Im with Dean,3500 is a very fair price.

what a beaut!
CarMax should be your last resort if you don't want to sit on the car any longer.
it's a good option for a quick sale but less money in your pocket.

that car should fetch close to $3k or so...argh so tempting to get back into another LS400!

Has it been winter driven much? How is the underside? I'm flying to Phoenix tomorrow to buy a 2000, but I have a couple friends interested in a clean 99-00. You should definitely post some more photos.

buy a car to flip that he don't care about, and comes here looking to see what he can get for it. there is the magical thing called "google". ever hear of it? how bout "kbb" ever hear of that either?

please do some research and don't waste our time. we are a group of people, that are passionate about these cars and help each other keep them running. kbye.
