I have a remote fob, hyqwdt-c, are there remotes that can be used in place, or are all the various Toyota and Lexus remotes all different frequencies? like, Toyota remotes look the same as mine, they just have a different fcc id on them.. looking for alternatives for getting a second remote than ponying up to lexus dealers. i was at my local swap meet, and this one vendor has a giant pile of remotes, many not even having an fcc id on them..

Not aware of any other remotes that will match what the car ECU is expecting. So you'll have to hunt for the matching FCC-ID remote. I bought a couple spares on eBay and here when they came up for sale. Then bought generic replacement case. FYI, not all the cases are the same either so you'll also need to find one that matches the exact button placement for the circuit board.

One of the cases that fits the Lexus internals is the fob with this FCC ID :HYQ1512Y

Lots of the cases were blank.. But all had same buttons and form factor as mine. i imagine the differences have to do with radio frequency, and the command coding..

I've bought a variety of generic cases that had similar layout. The mounting tabs for the circuit board differs for some models. The one I listed above fits the 99-02 4Runner, Sequoia and Avalon of same years. The truck cases show a back window where the Avalon variant will show a trunk lid on the button.
The 2000-'07 Camry cases do not fit the Lexus FOB circuit board.

Good to know. Even if the exterior looks the same, the internal board shapes and mounts vary. i might just design my own case. I'm of a redneck Frankenstein bent, when it comes to stuff like that, lol
