Default Auto Tilt Wheel Deactivation

The local dealer quoted me $85 bucks to deactivate the auto wheel tilt. Seems a bit much for something I believe to be as simple as deactivating through their diagnostic tool. Anyone ablento get this done for free?

i'm surprised they're only asking $85, often dealers charge an hour of labor for that type of stuff

the key word is their diagnostic tool with all the necessary software, since not just any $15 scan tool can do that

on the older cars it used to just be a simple button next to the control stick but for whatever reason they removed that

If you're going to pay $85 to get this done, you'd be well-advised to make a list of all the other things they could change at the same time. For me, this was all-windows-down on the remote, default to fan recirculating and several other annoyances. There was a list of all the programmable options put up somewhere; shouldn't be hard to find.

I just realized that I can use Techstream to access the car as the dealer does. I found one on Amazon for around $20 that should do the trick. It can sometimes be difficult to get working but it is worth the savings. I will try to remember to update the thread on how it works.
