Anton and Ana contacted me via email this afternoon. They are on the road with the million mile lexus and at a Nascar race at Daytona this evening.
I encouraged them to join and post up. I told them we would enjoy their posts. Here's hoping.

Hey guys, just posted a separate topic outlining our experience with the Million Mile Lexus so far. It currently has 978955 miles on the dash and runs great! Check out our other post pr instagram account ( @adventureholix ) for the latest.

Default better late than never, drove the million mile lexus!

i just wanna say a big thanks to Ana and Anton for being super nice, taking the time to meet with us and allowing me to drive the car. it's seriously impressive how smooth and quiet the car still is after driving the equivalent of nearly 40 trips around the equator. i feel privileged knowing i got to contribute a mile or two toward the goal of 1 million, and good luck to you both on the rest of your journey!

Very cool!

Looks like you undid your springs and put the OEM wheels back on yours?

yea, the 18" turanzas were all used up and i didn't want to buy another set of tires for those wheels. also now with the E55 i don't need two low riding sedans with 18" wheels lol, so i wanted the LS back to it's full glory. i still have my toyota employee card so i went to the lexus dealer, said i'm a toyota salesman, and they gave me the OEM wheels at the employee price (over 33% off list). still not peanuts and probably more than any rational person would spend on a car this old worth this little... but considering this will theoretically be the last set of rims i ever buy it was worth it to me to have genuine toyota original wheels.

the finish on them is totally beautiful, and although i was happy to cough up the dough for alloy wheels but the center caps are like ridiculously pricey. more money than the actual wheels of some cars i suspect... like it's just a piece of plastic with a thin metal layer on the outside! but they do look great installed and the car rides and especially takes bumps much better now.

I have heard that about those center caps!

I actually really like those wheels, I like the machined finish.

Yours looks just like our 98 did, alpine silver, only ours had a black interior.

Super cool that you drove this!
Looking forward to more of the trip that Ana and Anton are doing with this car.

(Going to merge this into their thread so that we can track any other members that meet up with them.)

yea it's almost like toyota knows that once you buy the wheels you'll be guilted into buying the center caps too to not let the appearance of the wheels down. while i still think it's ridiculous, it's not just a piece of plastic. it does actually have a piece of metal on the outside that matches the wheels perfectly. as much as i tried to clean them, 20 year old center caps on brand new wheels just don't look right.

Hi Anton and Ana, have you guys finished the epic journey? I saw you said it would finish at the end of August. I checked your twitter posts and didn't see any ending notes. Any final thoughts, experiences, observations would be great to hear, and thanks for allowing us to enjoy it with you. Wish you the best.

Hi there,

We got back back to LA after three months and 17k miles a few days ago and will return the car to Matt tomorrow. We don't keep up on twitter. Our account there is pretty much abandoned for now. We do however post many photos and stories on a daily basis on Instagram. Now that we have completed the journey we will also get to work and produce the YouTube videos of the trip so keep an eye out for those. Thank you for your support!
