I'm brand new to this forum and would like to know what you do for upholstery. I've got a 1995 ls400 and the leather seats are in poor condition.
Ive checked ebay and am not a fan of the cheap seat covers, yet don't want to spend $700 on new leather upholstery either.
Wondering if there are any other alternatives.
welcome to the club...
your sorta up against it with seat covers, just browse and see what others have done..
95-97 will bolt in but the wiring is not all the same, because of later air bags... shop around..
I'm with Hotdawwg: 1999 Lexus LS400 Diamond White Pearl/ tan Interior Leather.
I went with a company called LSeat. I got lucky, though. I have a UCF10 and since they didn't have a pattern for that generation, they offered a 50% discount for each pattern set I sent in. So instead of $600 for both front and rears, it only cost me $300. They quoted a month turnaround but it was more like 3 months. But the new seats look great. They should be arriving soon and then I'll be able to do the install.
$700 is pretty cheap if you are having both front seats and the rear seat redone. Especially if its a real, good quality leather.
Also have you thought about having them recovered in cloth???? A very nice cloth/velour was the material of choice for JDM Toyota Celciors. That cloth wore like iron as well, IMO it is more comfortable in the hot summer and cold winters if you don't have heated seats. I'd think about having them recovered in something similar to the OEM JDM cloth, maybe have the door panels redone to match as well.

I'll second this from experience, the cloth in these cars is the ultimate automotive seating material, and mine still looks nearly new. I have no idea where you'd get this kind of fabric though.
Greetings,
1995 ls400 don't want to spend $700 on new leather upholstery.
TIA,
Pete
Spend $1,299.00 instead. You get to pick from different colors, two-tone inserts, and it will improve the resale value of your car, so put that into your decision-making math.
Over the next five years, it will be just $1.40 per day.
