1998 UCF20 Celsior Cruise Control Delimiter
My 1998 JDM Celsior has a limiter that doesn't allow the cruise control to be engaged at speeds exceeding 108 km/h. I've found instruction to have this disabled (http://planetsoarer.com/cruise/index.htm), but I'm not sure how valid this is. Any one here with a Celsior done the same thing? Thank you.

Hey! I know this one! I had to do this on my 1991, so I'm not too sure if the location and procedure is the same for your 1998, but that is exactly the method I used to delimit my cruise control. Locating and removing the cruise control module is a bit of a pain given the small amount of space, but it's pretty straightforward. Cutting the jumper is a precise operation but it's not too hard to break that connection, just make sure you have strong scissors or something similar.
In your case I'd try to find a photo of the cruise control module from a 1998 LS400 and see how it's different from yours. That J1 jumper is the only difference between the Celsior unit and what came on an LS400, so it stands to reason the same would hold true for your later car.

Hey! THANK you so much for confirming this - I just wanted to make sure this was legit. Did you disconnect the battery before doing this, or pretty safe to do so without the disconnection?
Thanks again!

I didn't actually think to disconnect the battery before doing mine... clearly I lived to tell the tale with no ill effects but disconnecting the battery only takes a second and it's an easy way of ensuring you don't get a nasty shock or worse.

I can't offer much since I don't have access to a later cruise control module. Maybe you could get an LS400 cruise control module and try to swap the boards? I'm not familiar with the way the system is set up on the later cars. Hopefully someone else here might be able to shed some light on this, or post a picture of the 98-00 cruise control board for comparison's sake.
