Default Very confused....

I have a 1990 LS400 with about 220000 miles on it. Tune up probably three years ago. Just changed fuel filter and battery and charging system all perfect. No check engine light. Haven't checked codes because was told OBD 1 won't pop codes if no lights on. Okay there is the backstory here's the problem.

When under load can feel the car lunging through the brake pedal. Timing may be off, I don't know? When in neutral can't really tell anything. Besides RPM's lower than usually.

I am absolutely lost. I'm a Chevy guy..old Chevy...non computer. This is the wife's car, if it were not VERY sentimental to me this ****er would be on Craigslist. Please help me have a happy home life and get this fixed. Thank you in advance.

Define "lunging through the brake pedal" ? When braking there is a pulsation? What specifically is the low RPM?

Like it's fighting the brakes. Seems like it wants to go but then doesn't have the get up. Nothing on braking more on when stooped like at light. RPM's are about I'd say 500. Normally she runs at about 1000. Thank you so much for the help. GREATLY appreciated.

Not the calipers. Just violently power like it was running out of gas. But then came back to life. No check engine light during it either

Thank you bro. After reading I've figured out two things. One, that sounds right and two, I do not know how to solder so I'm buying an ecu.

Do you know how I figure the part number? There are two options.
