Lexus interior lighting, and for that matter most auto interior lighting leaves a lot to be desired...

Have been attempting to sort out what to do with the door panel lighting.

Ours only illuminate when the doors are opened, so do little to illuminate the interior. .and are a glare whenn opening door in darkness...

Taking a cue from the marine industry , I opted to replace the T3-1/4 incandescent bulbs with ultra-bright LEDs from DR. LED.

Much brighter than the OEM incandescents and easier on the eyes at night, with added safety benefit. (See Mercedes-Benz images with comment)


Difficult to photograph illuminated bulbs at night, but these red LEDs are uniformly bright.!

 

If foiling over the door pocket lamp cavity, be sure to not to cover ventilation slots.

The LED lamps are solid state devices and require ventilation for optimum performance.


Door Pocket Lamp assembly with side vent opened..did not seem to reduce light output at lense.
