Wow, that belt is chewed up. Looks like that bearing has been bad for about 10K miles, that's not an instant bad bearing. Must have been making a racket. But, on the bright side, at least it's a 94. (non-interference) That's why I bought my 93 and 94. I hope you changed the crank seal and cleaned it up a bit before putting it back together.

this is kind of strange, I bought my first LS, a 94, in (I think) in 96..it was a company car that was driven (highway) 7 days a week and had 233k (?)) miles on it and had a busted timing belt... but the idler pulleys were ok.. (we changed them anyway) but it seems like the mileage got to it, not the age of the car.like yours.... it was what sold me on LS400's..

Why is everything so shiny ? Oil all over everything? The hoses even shine?? Looks like both bearings went at the same time. I know a 1990 will last to 144,000 miles, I guess the parts are not that good on a 94. So how far from home was it when that happened?
Not good if its some important trip that you missed.

I think 23 years and not the mileage killed it. I just picked up this car about 2-3 months ago. I have been working on the other things to get it right. The funny part is I had just bought the parts this week to do the water pump this week end anyway. I was on the way to play golf when it broke. Was about 5 miles from home. And I sprayed CRC on everything when I was done to make it shine.
