Not all A341E Transmissions Created Equally?
Hi Guys,
Greetings from Australia! The clutch packs in my 1994 UCF10 recently went, lost all drive gears except for reverse:
Long story short, old transmission was an A341E (30-41LE) so I replaced it with another one with the exact same code, **New used transmission images attached.** however this one came from a UCF20 (Must be different in Australia as I understand US spec comes with an A340, not A341E) Got the transmission in, all plugs match up except the new A341E does not have a No.1 speed sensor!
Now I am getting the below error codes:
• 42 - No.1 Speed Sensor (to be expected)
• 46 - No. 4 Solenoid
• 62 - No. 1 Solenoid
Disconnect battey and car drives great until up to operating temperature. But then overdrive light starts flashing and won't shift into first gear unless manually selected.
Do you think my solenoid error codes are related to the lack of speed sensor? Any ideas about how to bypass this?

Likely suspect was the wrong transmission fluid that killed the clutch packs. Likely problem is you have a UCF10 and the trans you put in is from a different car.
Okay the number for a 1995 transmission is, 350105010284, and the number for a 1994 is 350105004084, so they must not be the exact same thing, if they were there would be no reason to change the numbers. So the wiring for the valve body could be different, the solenoids could be different, I didn't study that far. But I'm thinking that'
95B on the tag must mean that is for a 95 car. You only showed one tag so how to we know its the same code? Just like the name or MODEL LS400 is the same for all years that does not mean they are all the same. Just like the A341E or the 30-41LE that means nothing about being the same application, even if it does work there could be different clutch sizes and or spring pressures and they would not be compatible with the older transmission ECU. The ECU's could have different shift schedules and different pressures programmed. The thing to do is use the correct year transmission for the correct year car or series of cars. Other wise its an experiment and an engineering endeavor to iron out the bugs.

To make that work, if it were me, I would swap the valve body and trans wiring harness from the bad trans to the 'new' one. I agree with dicer, you may never get it working right like that as you are using a different generation trans for your car. The case should be identical so you should be able to use your old valve body and wiring harness. My guess is that the old trans is long gone though...
You probably lost the forward direct drum. They seem to be failing at fairly high rates around this 20-25 year mark that we're getting into now.

Hey guys,
Thanks for the replies - Transmission is fixed in case anyone is curious about the outcome. Took the pan off and swapped in my old solenoids and it is now working great, all parts identical! A341E UCF20 transmission can be used in a UCF10, note that only difference is lack of a SP1 sensor (gauge only). No speedo but there is a spot that looks like I can drill and tap to insert the sensor. ECT only relies on SP2 for trans inputs. Cheers!
