Life span of a strut
I have 80,000 miles on my Ls400. The car feels tight but you can feel hear and feel some bumps. I hear everone talk about how smooth the Lexus ride is. My LS rides nice but I have driven in some other Lux cars with a much softer/smoother ride. Coud it be the struts are on the way out? What is the lifespan of the struts on an LS?
I just put a new set of Michelin MXV4 tires on it. The ride improved a little over the last set of tires.
Thanks
katz

I Just changed the front struts on my 95 at around 60,000 miles. Rode just fine, just had loud groaning noises at speeds less than 40 MPH, the dealership said it was the struts. Sounded like squeakey bushings to me but I never took off the belly pan and squirted any lube on them. Also the dealership changed lower front ball joints at same time under warranty.
Later when the rear started squeaking, I squirted Syntec on the bushings. All is quiet in the rear today. Much cheaper too. My driver side rear was sagging so I changed 1 (Left) rear spring at 60K mi. also. I thought things should last longer, but...
