Default Disabling Airbag System

Hey ladies and gents, throwing a ucf20 together for dorifto and was wondering if any of you have disabled your airbags. I'm unsure of whether there is a fuse, if I should just remove the airbag computer, etc. Your opinions/experiences are greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

I think the best way would be to substitute a resistor for the air bag inflator. That way the system always thinks its there and will not turn on the airbag light. But then the whole system is still activated and if you run into something then it may weird out. I don't know how you could check the resistance for the inflator with out setting it off. Good question for Yamae he may know the resistance of it.
There maybe one or two fuses that would need to be removed, but then the airbag light will probably come on and be irritating.

The car is going to be used for track duty only for the time being and the light will not bother me. If there is fuses I can pull to disable the entire system I would rather do that than mess around with resistors.

I'm sure there are you need to look in the owners manual. Also unplug the bag after the battery is disconnect for 5 minutes or so.

Check the main fuses boxes, I believe there are a couple fuses you can pull. I would however advise against disabling it in a street car (or at least while it's being driven on the street) as if you are in an accident and injure yourself, your insurance can drop your coverage if you are found to have disabled the system.

quickest way to disable the SRS system is to pull the fuse(s) powering it. you will get a dash light.

now if you install an aftermarket steering wheel, eliminating the airbag, the system will not see a load (unless you install a resistor) and disable the system altogether as well.

Pulling the fuse may disable the system but the air bag could still deploy from any form of induced emf into the wire that feeds it. To properly disarm it needs to be unplugged so the connection is shorted all airbag plugs have an automatic shorting bar in the plug.
