Control arm question/issue
1991 ls400. I was hoping to get some advice on this.... I recently replaced both ball joints, tie rods, brakes, calipers, and rotors.
I went in to get an alignment and the technician told me I need replace the left control arm and the bushing bolt (or something like that)? He said that he could not get it to budge and although he got the front end aligned it still pulls to the right because of this.
I looked up the part and it is pretty expensive. Do I really need to replace the part or can I just replace the bushing or what. Can someone help me out with this?

Had this same exact issue... i replaced the control arm but being that it was so expensive, i pulled it off another LS from a junkyard in perfect condition.. no problems since

i had an alignment tech tell me he couldn't move that bolt, in reality it was just slightly seized and needed a bit of lubrication to get loose. you're in NV where suspension bits are usually pretty easy to loosen. the tech needs to adjust the bolt while the car is loaded (sitting on all four tires on the alignment rack). i found that if you unload the suspension, the bolt is easier to loosen. sounds like you had a lazy tech, or one that gave up too easily.
if it is indeed a bad part(s), i would source another lower control arm and associated eccentric bolt from the junk yard. it is also possible that the bushing in the lower control arm is shot but both these are unlikely. of course one would need to loosen the bolt to replace the parts, so when alignment come around it would be much easier for the tech.
search for your local junkyard/dismantler here for the exact part you need:
