This is an old thread but have you resolved the problem, Stroock639?
i guess technically no... it's weird everything will be ok for awhile then occasionally happen again, for now just stopping the car for a few minutes and starting it again will do the trick, generally there's no code but if there is just clearing it and disconnecting the battery for a bit will make everything ok again (at least for a few months)
most of this stuff started happening after i tightened the throttle cable to get 'better response' even though cleaning the air mix path was what actually helped the most, so my throttle cable was just ever so slightly tugging on the sensor which started making the sensor act up
loosening the cable improved things but i'd still get the problem every so often, generally during fall or spring when outside temperatures would have greater fluctuations... the price of the sensor has gone down since i first started the thread years ago so i think i'll just get a new sensor eventually and not worry about soldering
First, thank you for the community and Yamae's contributions for helping others.
I was helping one out to resolved the same problem. In my disposal was two defective APPS putting out code P1122 w/ VSC warning light. Opened one up to see if soldering will help. Unfortunately the 98' version of APPS is contact point based, so no amount of heating with solder it back in place. What I did was clean the PCB and lift the contact pins from the main assembly and glued it back together. Also gave the rotating contact points a good lift before closing it back. Lately temperature drops to freezing when the problem materialized and had not encounter it again. That OEM APPS price is very hefty so we tried the knockoff from amzn version but only threw in both P1120 & P1121.
Hope this helps others who loves classic cars.
