Hey guys, I have a '96 LS400, I was just driving for a 65 mile round trip for work, after I got home I shut the car off and just sat in it for awhile. I began to hear this short buzzing sound, almost like a phone ringing on vibrate. Buzzzzz.. Buzzzzz.. ........ repeat.

Now I found a possible issue on Lexusownersclub, and it's a TSB concerning 96' Ls400's, in regards to the EVAP CHARCOAL CANISTER.

in 1997, this was replaced with a more modern one with some sort of a filter..

Here's the problem, I'm not exactly sure if this is the issue, however if it is.

If the noise doesn't bother me can I just leave it? will it hurt my baby? If this isn't the issue what are your guesses of what it could be? everything helps! thanks

No sir, car was originally strut/spring, however it's on coilovers now.

 

Isn't that what coil overs are? Coil over the strut.
Where does the buzz come from? Inside or ?

 

Yes! Its coming from under the hood, sounds like near the battery.
