There are things I love about my LS400...
Everything works well, and I am driving a $66,000 car for 91% less.
The color, Silver Jade Pearl, is beautiful and uncommon.
It's faster than my previous car, a 2001 Toyota MR2 Spyder.
It's quiet at high speeds, yet the stereo rocks with crystal clear sound at high volume.

The '98 and up LS400's are no slouch. Their quarter mile and 0-60 times are better than many cars even today! I normally drive like a grandpa under 2krpm (and it's amazing it can get around pretty well without going above 2krpm!!) lol

I'm a fan of how quiet it is as well. I couldn't help but notice that my son and I were talking at a much lower tone in the car one the way home from picking it up. And even with the H&R springs and the 18's that are now on it, the car is surprisingly smooth.

As much as I've come to find the new tech useful, the the driving experience in these is simple. That analog type drive is fine with me. That's not to say the 430 or 460 are unlovable because of the tech. I'm still quite pleased with the aging barge and it still manages to get going when on the gas.

I use your forum for my current toy!
The LS is worse on an autocross course, to this I can attest.

yeah i really don't think there's a whole lot to be improved on the LS 400. the new S class and MDX (and i'm sure others too) boast about their two displays, but the LS has FIVE! HA! granted 1 of them only shows the clock and another only shows the outside temperature but they're there and beautifully integrated into the dash.
great interior, sure its a sea of gray but its gotta be my favorite button layout ive come across. the cabin is just more airy then modern ones, i think the sides of the car still being relatively low aids with that
