Default confusing issue. ohms testing a lock-up soleniod

here is an interesting, and frustrating to me, issue. The lock up solenoid for the ls400

the first pdf, shows Resistance: 5.0 ∼ 5.6 Ω
the second, for my 95 ls400 says, Resistance: 7.5 ~ 8.5

they are both the same part number 35280-50010, why in the world would the resistance be different?

I really wouldn't worry about it. If it has resistance in either range it should be fine. If its way less or way more then theres a problem.

well the question isn't if you would worry about it. the question is why the same part would have two different specs.

The same reason there are always errors and discrepancy's in manuals and parts listings, descriptions, specs or what ever . Some times the proper info goes through so many people (channels) that it gets mixed up or skewed . Or it could be a legitimate engineering change and upgrade that is not noted. To find out you would need to search for service bulletins and other such information.

I actually have a full Lexus '95 OEM repair manual laying around here somewhere. I'll dust it off this weekend and check it to give you the correct values or report a mismatch.

I don't trust repair manual PDFs without the identifying numbers (there is supposed to be a 5-6 digit code to identify which manual it is from).
