where can i get coil springs at? the job was completed, however, i still hear the same creaking sound when braking and a "clunk" when i initially apply brakes.....the coils are creaking i assume, but the "clunk" i dont know....any ideas or am i way off base?

Welding a spring may work if it is reheat treated, that weld area is now soft and will slowly bend and will settle on that side or corner of the car, unless he did do a sort of a reheat treat himself. There are lots of places to get the springs. Rock auto for one. Just do a search online for them. The clunks and creaking are the looseness in the front end parts rubber bushings etc. you likely need the upper control arms or the bushings for them, ball joints etc. Play in the steering ?

im contemplating buying a used oem part today, front strut assembly of a 1991 Ls400 (141,000 miles).....i wanna replace both coils (225,000 miles) on my car with these. $90 total. My other option is to return my KYB struts and mounts ($213) for a UNITY front strut assembly......coils, mounts, struts ($130).....any advice?

Shoot me a PM and I can show you where to go to buy brand new springs and stuff individually real cheap and shipped directly to you - no its not from me, yes its from a vendor of this site, and no I dont make money off it because I will send you the link and a code for a discount. I just dont want anyone whining saying I am advertising.

Yeah that's why I did it as I don't want the car down and taking up garage space. I can always get other struts and use the springs off the old ones. I like having spare parts, saves time when you need them.
