Default What RPM Should Be @ 70 MPH?

I have a 97 LS400 with the tranny overhauled. Can someone check & let me know what's the RPM should be @ 70 MPH? Mine is at about 2300, 2400 @ 70 MPH. I thought it should be around 2K. Thanks.

That is the approximate RPM range for that speed with stock tires. I want to say that 2K RPM is 50'ish. I'm forgetting since I don't drive ours much.

I don't know for sure. But that looks real good to me. Tire diameter will affect it too. And have you tried to cycle the OD switch on the shifter to see if its going into OD, also when driving be aware to see if the Torque converter clutch is engaging.

Car is driving & shifting perfect as always. Just thought it's a little high @ 70. Next time, when you drive yours, please check & let me know. Thanks.

What do you mean cycle the Od switch...? I didn't even know there was a switch for it.

there is a button on the early model cars to turn off OD on the side of the shifter, but was removed for the 95-up cars with gated shifters.
