Anyone seena LS400 w/LS430 17" rims like this?
I am currently searching for a new daily driver, and have been debating between a 95/6 LS and an 94/5SC4. I have more or less decided to go with an LS due to its greater functionality. My only concern is making it look a tad bit more sporty. I definately do not want aftermarket rims. I have seen some I like, but don't want to even approach the ghetto/ricer look (no offense intended to anyone w/aftermarket rims) - they are just not for me on an LS. Anyways, trying to find some factory Lexus wheels that I could swap. Came across an ad on ebay for this 95LS with 17" LS430 rims.
Has anyone seen such a setup in person? How's it look? Any other factory rims that would fit/look good? I don't even need 17s, would be fine with 16s. I know I don't want the GS 17", but I did see a 6 spoke GS 16" wheel on ebay that I did not recognize that looked pretty appealing. Maybe they were of an 02 or 03, cuz they were not the 5 spoke 16s that the older second generation GSs come with. Anyways, any suggestions or comments are welcomed. TIA.
[edit]: please no ebay linking, thank you.

I think that car looks good with those wheels. Did you scroll down to see all the pics? That car looks great...very well cared for. You might want to consider that one.

The '98-'00 16" machined aluminum "Coach style" wheels look nice....and they're not too expensive. I bought my '97 LS400 Coach Ed. used, and the wheels were in rough shape, scratched, paint flaking, curb scars, etc. The tires didn't even match front to rear. The rest of the car is mint though. Like you, I too wanted nicer wheels but a) I didn't want the "bling bling" look of aftermarket wheels b) I did NOT want wheels that would be a target to thieves and c)I didn't want to have to spend extra money on 17 or 18" tires.
So last summer I bought a set of mint condition '99 LS400 wheels off the internet (from a wheel dealer in NH) for $600. I let them sit in my garage for a few more months until I was ready for new tires, and then did the swap. I then sold my original '97 Coach Edition wheels for $300 on eBay, and they were in fair condition at best. Cost me $300 to upgrade. I think it's a very tidy look without having to go to 17s.
This is an example...not off my car since I don't have the gold package (nor do I want the gold package on my Opal Pearl White car).
Regards,
