I noticed it the first day I got my 97 back in 2011, but never really cared. Decided to post in the Facebook LS400 section and was told that there's a metal reinforcement bar that is under the dead pedal. Which the relay is also mounted to.

No big deal, but you'll feel it in your foot every time now
