Default Can they be turned?

ON a 93 LS can the rotors be turned or do they have to be replaced? This car I bought when I put on the brakes the car wobbles a little bit. I think the roters need to be turned but somebody told me they didn't think you could turn Lexus rotors? I figured I would ask the experts here

thanks

Lexus doesn't usually do resurfacing, but it is just a rotor you know?

You can have them resurfaced or you can buy new ones for about $115 each from Carson Toyota

So, I can get anyone to turn them? Long as they can be turned, I just wasn't sure. Does that make sense with the front wobbeling when I apply the brakes?

Get them turned at a brake shop or a Belle Tire. If they can't be turned trust me they won't because they are going to make more money selling you new ones than turning your old ones. To turn a rotor it's around $10.00 - $20.00 ea. Takes about 10 minutes each on a lathe machine. If you know someone with a lathe machine it could be free (mechanic or someone who works at a repair shop) If you buy news ones it will run you around $400.00 plus labor. So in the end they want to sell you new ones.

Lexus rotors can be cut one time each, according to my Lexus mechanic. If they are completely warped or deeply cut from grinding, they may need to be replaced.

If you will take the rotors off yourself, you can take them to a local O'riley auto parts, they will send them off to their contract shop to have them done, or you can do them at many mechanic shops...
normally... the front brakes are the ones that warp...
in which case, look online for bradi brakes... and for many cars, you can get drilled and slotted for less than the Lexus Dealership will quote you for them.. also.. only a little more then normal ones at carson toyota

Lexus rotors can be turned like any other rotors if they have enough "meat", but don't expect them to last as long as new rotors.

They said they had enough on them to be turned, but the pads seem to be glazed over. I have about 30% left on the pads but they squeek like crazy. Glazing??

Think I am gonna go for either slotted or drilled? Maybe both? I have heard pros and cons on each and slotted seems to be the better from what I have heard?

Id say, no matter the pros and cons as far as breaking goes,
go for slotted, because, i just cant imagine drilled rotors looking good on cars like ours... i guess im just too concerned with looks tho but why else would I love this car so much?
actually, I bought mine, and im so spoiled now, ill never be able to drive a different quality of car... im so hooked...
worst part: I wont be able to afford a newer version for about 7 years... ( Lawschool, then getting started )
Adios
