2000 ls400 auto leveling lights going too high
i checked and the rear rod is broken, but regardless where I set the arm to manually the lights still go up way too high. I lowered them some with the manual adjusters but the auto level just swings them way too high, im fully illuminating overpass signs. How can I limit how hih the auto level swins the lights up?

My rear arm broke as well.
I tried zip tieing it and the rod would work its way down while driving. Here is what I did.
With the car parked. I had mine running with the lights on. Adjust the rod to get the aim somewhat level.
Then I disconnected the the wires going to the level motors on the headlights.
Now by doing this, it will trigger a idiot light indicating a fault with the level system. So I plugged in a spare set of level motors and left them hanging.
One of these days I'll re weld the rear linkage. But for now. I don't get high beamed and no idiot light.

cool, so you actually saw the position change as you messed with the sensor?
I need to figure a way to get my hand in there to grab it, cars too low normally.

I find i can do the driver decently if i remove the battery bracket. Still a little tough to get in. i know they make special wrenches for headlight alignment, super slim prolile and about 8" long. Saw a 7mm one on rockauto for 1.50, but we need 8 mm head.
On my passenger headlight, the middle manual adjuster is stripped, so you cant actually adjust it-and if you do the first big bump will disloge it and then the whole assembly shakes and flickers. I had to run a nut down so its pointed low now (at least its not up 20 feet like before. I would watch p-eoples faces cringe and melt in their side view mirror, SORRY!)
Really hoping messing with the adjuster arms I can get it to a good height. .
