sat radio
It works great. I have installed an Alpine head unit with Sat. radio control. Alpine only sponsors XM of which I am happy with. 9.95 per month and 130 stations. I find the hardest thing is deciding which station to listen to.

Could you give us some of the details of the install - any problems - did everything fit- how did you route the wires - ---what type of antenna did you use, where/how did you mount it. Thanks - Herm

Sat. Radio
Here is the run down on installing a satellite radio. If you want to install into stock system you have two choices. One you would have to use an FM adaptor, not a great choice because the sound is degrated by the FM modulator. Or two, there is a guy listed in one of the forms on this site that can install a pre-out on the stock radio to connect directly to the Sat. recieving unit. He claim no degrade of signal. Great option if you want to keep your stock look but have Sat. radio. I think the cost of the convertion was around $200.00.
I decided to install a new Alpine head unit instead. Install was quite easy. If you have a pioneer radio 1st generation a Toyota Camery wiring harness adaptor will plug right in and the wiring is the same. I fabricated a face plate from aluminum and covered with a wood grain to match the rest of the dash. The Sat unit is in the trunk and I mounted the antania on the rear deck as opposed to mounting on out side of car. Looks neater and there is no degrade in signal.
