Default Speaker for factory sub location?

I have two aftermarket subs in the trunk, and aftermarket tweeters and speakers in the front but NOTHING in the rear. PO didnt believe in rear fill, I require it.
Wondering can i put an 8" high quality speaker in the rear parcel shelf to fill the factory sub location? Needs to be fairly shallow. Any recommendations?

Sure, you can do that, running a single 8" mid bass there would work.
I'm not sure that would give you the rear full you are after though... Why not a pair of decent 5-1/4s?

i havent really inspected the area. Where would I put those? I would like to avoid cutting into any sheetmetal.

The 5-¼ speakers should fit into the rear doors in the stock locations.
You shouldn't have any clearance issues with any 8" sub or midbass speaker in the stock sub location.

think im gogin to do that midbass speaker first as its real easy to get to and route the wires to the amp in the trunk. Go from there.

you have rear mids on the rear doors. no need to put any speaks on the shelf unless you want to.
