Help!

I've noticed a strange noise when staring my LS400. I turn the key, the engine begins to turn, but just before the car starts i hear a knocking. has anyone had anything similar happen to them?

Yes , it usually happens when I DON'T start the car
for 3-4 days , I think that ALL the oil drains off
and until it reaches the area where metal is on metal
then it goes away , but like I said , only when I leave it
for a few days. Day to day no noise at all.

 

check your power steering fluid......see if it is the right amount of fluid...it may be that there is a little. dont overfill it though

 

Had the same problem.Switched to mobile one.And that stopped the start up noise.It takes a little time before it starts controlling the noise.Give it a try.
