Default 95 Ls400 funny smell...

so over the last week or so my car has smelled like its burning oil, but all fluids are good, collant is good, and i dont see any smoke or leakage.. any idea what this could be?

Did you drive over a plastic bag and it is now melting on an exhaust pipe?

possibly valve cover gaskets if car has high miles

it's a 19 year old car and they're rubber/viton gaskets.

Doesn't need high miles, check those anyway.



I had an issue on my old '95 where the HP hose had a leak that was spraying ATF from the PS system onto one of the exhaust manifolds. Check that too.

Also check the valve cover breather pipes for poor sealing and splits.
