Default in trunk air vents

You know the two flapped fresh/water runoff panels down low in the trunk?
I had some water around there after driving thru some heavey rain. now, my trunk seal was shot as well, but im wondering can any water get up in thru there? The car in question is a 2000 ls400, you can see the ground thru the flaps, and its behind the rear wheels..

I would not think so, I have two 99's and have no such problem.

I drive though heavy rain out here in the PNW on a regular basis and never had an issue... Unless you submerge the back end of the car, you should never see rain come in from there, most likely a byproduct of the trunk seal leak.
