Angry new lexus owner...help

ii just purchased a 1993 LS300. In simple terms, I love this car. In fact my sayes I may be a little obsessed wit the car. I do have a couple of questions and I was hoping that someone could help.

I'm hearing a rattle on the right side of the car. its either comming form under the dash board or the door. has anyoe had any similar problems.

Is it best that I go to a LEXUS dealer or do you know of any good mechanics in the new york metropolitan area? Lexus of Manhattan has already hit me for 66 bucks for a spare key.

My factory radio does not have the cd changer option. Doeas anyone know wher i can get one. Ive tried EBAY, but i havent been succesful. Does anyone know the model number of the radio with the cd option.

Thats it for now. Thanks in advance for your help.

Be nice, Hyperopt, he's a newbie like me.

Arodgers: You're either talking about an LS400 or an ES300. I'll assume LS as that is what I have.

I had a "rattle" like this. I discovered that one of the mounts for the plastic panel in the wheel well had pulled out of its mounting hole. I was able to push it back into the hole and the rattle went away, at least until it happened again a month or so later.

I then squirted some silicone sealant on the mount and pushed it back in. Since then, it hasn't pulled loose.

Hope this helps you out and good luck.

As for the radio you can get a aftermarket one because the stock radio without a CD option sucks. But if you want to stay with a the stock unit, you can always buy a RF CD changer that will hook up with the antenna.

Thanks for the help with the rattle. You were 100% correct. I was one day away from taking it back to Lexus to have them track it down.

This is a great forum.

Great news! Glad I could help return the favor for some of the great help I've received here recently!

Like I said before, mine would pop back out after a while. So, if you didn't use any adhesive, it might pop out again.
