front wheel bearing replacement
hello, i need to replace my front wheel bearings but dont want to spend 400 bucks at a repair shop, so please send me any advice or link to a tutorial for help with the replacement. i have searched here and no luck so far. i love lexls.com but this is the 1 thing the don't have on the site. Ty for so much for the responses.

are you SURE they are bad, that is not generally something that tends to fail on LS400, would be very strange, unless you have 400K miles or something

Going for that million mile club eh?
If I recall from reading my repair manual, the front wheel bearings are services by removing the steering knuckle and then using a shop press to press out the old bearings and axle shaft, and vice versa with the new ones.
If you don't own a press, a local Toyota shop should be more than willing to do that part for you for a reasonable expense. The axle hub itself should be reusable so long as the bad bearing hasn't totally cooked it and worn it down the the point of just falling out once you take everything apart.
Like LS CowboyLS said, it's not a very common issue with these cars, so it's not likely that you are going to find a decent writeup anywhere on the internet.
