winter oil and fluid maintenace
New to me lexus, 115k miles.
normally takes 5w30 right?
Should I run that year round, (im in MI) or switch to 5w20?
Car always ran on synthetic.
What model filter number? (i use wix filters)
Couldnt find a sticky with all fluid specs and capacities?
NVM: found it all through a littel google search.
also-walmart has byfar the cheapest price on mibil 1 synthetic! 25$/5 quarts, everywhere is minimum 35

yes your owners manual also has the fluid capacities. check the oil thread on what type of oil to use in winter climates. i'm from california ha!
check this thread out for oil filters:

buying oil is the only reason why i shop at walmart, it's very true their prices can't be beat!

I use 5-30 year around here in CA my1991 LS has over 300,000 miles and looking for 400,000 miles I change it the engine oil every 15,000 miles using MB 1 extended also use MB 1 trans fluid in trans and PW and 75-90 in the rear end change trans ad PW at 30,000 miles and nothing has worn out as yet. My 1986 Toyota Cressida went 529,000 miles did the same thing and nothing wore out Toyota makes great cars.

5W-20 is for most cars an improvement over 5W-30, but Toyota has not yet approved this on LS400 - so stick with 5W-30, or if you want to go one step better for Michigan, find a good 0W-30
I like Pennzoil Ultra (hard to find, but the favorite of the gurus at BobIsTheOilGuy.com) and the Valvoline SynPower, Pennzoil Platinum and Mobil 1 are well liked there as well, but 0W-30 may not be available in these.
WIX makes a cool oversize filter for LS400 - the 51516XP
