We had some fun in Mexico tonight... this thing is nasty in person... sound so much smoother with the headers! The videos don't give the car the justice for experiencing it in person. Proud of you for finally completing this buddy!

Thanks Adam! After you left the house last night I pulled the driveshaft out so I can replace the yoke seal on the trans. Hopefully if work doesn't keep me tied up today I'll have it back together for tonight.

I also cut a piece of metal out to cover up the hole in the floor around the shifter.

I'm in love with this car all over again!

The first video, it looks like you're having problems I had. Does it idle fine, but stall when you put your foot on the clutch after getting it moving?

I was having some issues. I replaced and adjusted the TPS sensor and all is fine now. Every time I was coming to a stop or just pushed the clutch in while moving the rpm's would dip down below idle and shut off. After I installed the new TPS it hasn't shut off on me once! Right now the car drives and feels like a factory manual car. Expect once and awhile the O/D light will flash about ten times and then go back out.

So just an update. I've been driving the car just about everyday. I still need to buy a shift boot and finish the center console. I started school so I havnt had too much time to work on it. Im still working on getting a wideband for it so I can tune it with the neo. As of right now im just enjoying the car as is. She is running pretty good and I get questions about it just about everywhere I go. Lol

Thanks for the thread man! I have an SR that came out of another LS400 with a rod knock. Came with the adapter, driveshaft, clutch, flywheel, pressure plate and all the bolts. I just got the pilot bearing adapter the other day. I spoke to Brett Collins about this swap and he told me about shaving the starter bolts and "knifing" it, which I am clueless of. My questions are: What did you do about the NSS? And did you have to cut the console at all for the manual shifter so it could actually make it into 1st and 3rd?

Knifing the starter gear is just rounding the edges of the gear so it doesnt hit the flywheel. Instead it slides into the flywheel.

I have not modified the shifter. Im happy with where its at and ill be modding the trim peice of the consel instead. It doesnt hit anything but the flat trim peice which I dont have in right now

What's a good tool to use for that? Sorry, I'm a dummy .___.
And awesome, so you're just gonna cut the bezel?

I just used an angle grinder to just barely take off the edge of each tooth on the starter gear. You don't want to take a lot off, just enough to make the gear slide easily into the flywheel.

As far as the console goes. I like where the short shifter is at. It's comfortable and doesn't interfere with any other part of the dash. Just the trim piece.

Here's a pic of the trim piece I'm talking about. I'm just going to make a new piece out of aluminum and move the hole forward and attach a shift boot. Should be pretty easy I would think.

Yeah, the bezel. That was what I was wondering as well, as far as what to do with it. Yeah, should be easy enough. When you get it done, would you mind posting dimensions you used for the aluminum replacement?

Carbon fiber conversion please. Though I think doing up the aluminum in an engine turned finish would look radical! Here's a picture to give you an idea:

I'm not sure if I really need to post dimensions considering everybody has a template in their car.... lol

I have a piece of diamond plate in the garage, so I'll just use it for now. I'll be painting or powder coating it black though. I don't want anything too flashy in the interior. I don't think I want the diamond plate look either but I'll cut it and see how it looks for now.
