Yeah, I read that. While that will strengthen the small area around the master, the forces will just be distributed over a slightly larger area. You are still ultimately dealing with thin metal at the termination edge of the plates, and looking at the pics, it will probably be restricted to the small blistered area where you have mounted the master. What I'm specifically talking about, is bracing the master fore/aft so that the force of pedal application gets transmitted (in part or majority) to say, the strut tower. This will drastically reduce the fatigue cycling of the metal around the master.

Something to look into...

the metal at that part of the firewall is thicker/stiffer than you may think, that area is already somewhat braced for the BMC.

The master is bolted down. I tried to move it, and it doesnt budge. The metal doesnt flex or bend at all either.

DANGGG..thats almost hard to convince myself to be worth it for that kinda pricing/work
putting a grand in suspension and a grand into adapter kit and clutch alone..for a $1500 car...
but on the flipside its probably about the same price as a boosted s13 with less maintenance turbo crap

I don't know about you, but when I think about mods like this I don't think about the value of the car. I don't plan on selling it anytime soon, and I'm not worried about getting my money back. My goal is to have something very different then the everyday car and have a lot of fun driving it. I see 240's all day long around here, and I enjoy standing out from the crowd. Oh, not to mention I have a child and need something that when we all go out to shows or events everybody can ride in.

Well..... The big unit that I pulled out where the master cylinder is currently, is all that has been taken out. I plugged the line that goes over to the passenger side. The brakes seem to be working extremely well, but have not tested to see if the ABS still works. I would assume not because I took that big unit out that goes to the ABS. Everything works great right now, so I'll leave the braking system alone for now. Maybe later down the road I will start cleaning up the engine bay and getting rid of things.

Just a little update:

I've got the car up on the jack stands and ready to pull the auto out. I also ordered my adapter plate and clutch set up this past Tuesday. Hopefully it will get shipped out soon. I want to get the auto out and get everything I can ready for the 5 spd. That's it for now, I'll take a couple pics as I'm pulling the trans out.
