Default Need battery code for LS400

For 2000 Ls400, I am replacing the battery and I am told there is a "battery code".
Could anyone let me know if in fact there is a code and if so, what is it.
The dealer says they could only take the radio out to read the code on the back of it.

Appreciate your help.

The code is for the radio.. on my cars I've found it written in the owners manual...or there is a card in the manual that has it printed on there. did you look there?

Default Radio code

Thanks for your quick response. Yeah, I looked thru the manual and everything that came with it.
I am the 4th owner but it did have the original sticker invoice in the manual holder with supplemental
info. i saw nothing.

Anyone else out there with a 2000 LS400 that would know???

The battery size you need is "24F" although some other less well fitting sizes can be used. Any battery seller should be able to look this up as could you if you do a google.

There is no battery code on the back of the radio - who told you that?

And there is no security code for your 2000 LS400 radio. Only the generation one LS400 had a radio on which a security code could be set - at least those LS400's sold in North America.

Default radio code

Thanks kansas. I should have said "radio code"
Someone on this forum suggested that if I disconnected the battery that i would need a radio code to
get the radio to work again.
I know on my 99 Gmc sierra, there was a code needed when i replaced the battery.
My Lexus 2000 was originally purchased in september 99. Is that first generation?
Appreciate your input.

No, yours is not first generation, and as Kansas pointed out, you do not need a security code for your radio.

and even if you had the generation that did, they sure wouldn't put it on the back of the radio, that would be mighty convenient for a thief! - lol

Default radio code

Okay, radio code on the back of radio! This is what the knucklehead lexus service advisor tells me over the phone. Just can't trust them!

Anyway, thanks for all your help. Really appreciate it.
