that might work very short term, but the one from ebay has been sitting which is especially hard on the capacitors,so it will quickly need caps as well.

if you get one from ebay to tide you over, make sure they provide pics of the insides, and post them here - then we van verify it's a virgin! (you do not want a "rebuilt" one, those are horrible!)

So I finally did the ECU capacitor swap. I tried to reset the computer but it did not clear. I drove it for a bit hoping it would clear but it did not.

However, after checking the codes, I do not have as many as before.

I now have:

Engine 28 - Main oxygen sensor signal (on right bank)
Trac 51 - Problem in engine control system

Oxygen sensor is simple enough but what does the Trac 51 mean?

Also I forgot to mention when the capacitors were swap the tech did check each value of the capacitor and all were fine. So i guess preventive maintenance and a little power as people claim is good enough for me

normally an 02 will throw code 25/26 rich/lean malfunction...just because it has code 28 doesn't mean it is necessarily an 02 sensor

I have a UK spec LS400 ( I live in the UK ). When I turn the ignition on without starting the car, the check engine light is lit all the time. When I use the link to get the light to blink the code, nothing happens, the light stays permanently lit. The same happens when I start the engine.
I've also tried going to the round plug inside the car and made the wiring connections to get an OBD2 scanner connected. It will not connect to the ECU.
Does anyone have any idea why I can't find a way of reading the codes ?
Thanks.
